An automated survey

There we were, sitting on a beach in the Mimosa rocks national park sharing a picnic and watching the sun go down,  when my phone rang.

A surprise in itself, as we expected to be well out of cellphone range, but it was a Victorian number, so as we’re buying a house in Victoria, I answered it

Bad mistake.

“This is a short automated survey about federal politics”

For a millisecond I was tempted to launch my phone into the waves.

Don’t these people understand people have lives and only sad people are going to fill in a survey…
